Hi there...it is to Marc that we
own a GREAT BIG THANKS!!!
Marc has done a
great job getting all of us a place on the web. I for one
am very excited to be able to see how we all have changed or NOT!!
Below are some pictures from our
recent trip to England. July 2006
In 1997 I was contacted by
the Manx Museum on the Isle Of Man. I seems that my Great-grandfather
published the 1st atlas of The Isle of Man in 1868. They wanted to know if
I was the Great-grandson of James Woods. Well they had my name and my
number so it seems that I am that person. I have been researching my
family history since then. My Great-grandfather has a biographer named
Alan. He works for the Manx Museum in Douglas. I have been in contact with
Alan for many years so this summer my wife Judy and I had the opportunity
to travel for two weeks to England to see my sister and her family. During
our trip there we spent 4 days on The Isle of Man. Alan acted as our
guide. The Island is one of the most unusual places I have ever been. The
air is so free of toxins and pollutants. Right away you can feel the
difference.
This is the view as you
enter Douglas Harbor. We took the Steam Packet ship from Liverpool. About
2 hr and 30 minute trip.
The Steam Packet ship, Super
Seacat 2,was much larger than I had imagined. A really fun trip. We decided
to try the 1st Class section. It was a good choice as the ship was
full.

As soon as we arrived Alan
was there waiting to take us to our hotel then on a tour of the island.
Starting with where my Great--grandfather had grown up. A city to the
north called Ramsey.
Ramsey harbor. The Star of
India was constructed here and set sail in 1863. It is now harbored in San
Diego.
