Thought it might be interesting to share some of my recent work in a Flash Slideshow (get yours courtesy of Imageshack) These have a little bit more of an "X" factor. Hope they're enjoyed and not the obverse. Clickable originals on the left. Also, old stuff found here

Have something to say? Leave a thought behind. Click on the "comments" link below. I would like to know what it was.

Rue Britannia (That's Not A Typo)

After four plus decades of roaming the World and making my home where I found it; It is indeed passing strange to return to the Homeland and be a "Stranger in a Strange Land". Such is England: The Reality, and not England: The Myth -that all good Colonials embrace as part of being more British than the Brits. My cousin's lovely wife tells me to "go slow, go slow. [You] have a lot to offer. But ... Go slow" Is it because after all those years in The Americas, I am somewhat of a bull in an upmarket kitchen shop? Probably. I guess daintiness and rectitude are not part of my makeup. Which has led me to consider narcissism. Because what else is self-awareness and introspection? But narcissism: Complete, and replete, with all the dangers implied by spending too much time in front of a mirror. Ah vanities ... Now where did I leave my navel? Must have fallen off when I wasn't contemplating it.

Mexico is now a ... [ LINK ]

I could indefinitely express my feelings about Mexico. It's a fierce adoption. Love for Mexico, specifically Nogales, Sonora is a complex relationship, always evolving and always mysterious. And, according to some of my friends, bizarre and bewildering.

Deserted ...

My idea of being castaway is, maybe, an igloo way up North with Ranulph Fiennes for company and, at the very least, a satellite uplink and indoor plumbing. That said ... If I could only have two of everything (á la Noah's Ark) I would need: Blade Runner, Brazil, Chopin's Nocturnes, anything by U2 (preferably Achtung Baby), "Poemas de Amor: Neruda", Spanish-English Dictionary to translate Neruda's poetry, pen and paint, paper and canvas, two dogs, and another human to balance out Ranulph (he may be a self-involved neurotic) ... And an unlimited supply of Nat Sherman's and Herradura "Seleccion Suprema".
